/ aligned is a collaborative generative artwork created with New York artist Tim Maxwell, transforming his intricate hand-drawn architectural linework into a digital, algorithmic system.
The piece is permanently inscribed on the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol, generating 542 unique outputs from a single algorithm and offering collectors the option to commission a bespoke physical drawing by Maxwell.
Role
Developed the WebGL + GLSL shader engine that reinterprets Maxwell’s hand-drawn aesthetic into procedural, real-time visualsDesigned custom algorithms using early Bitcoin block data as seeds for generative variationCreated a rendering pipeline capable of mimicking ink-like strokes, fine detail, and architectural tensionDelivered browser-based previews and high-resolution generative outputs optimized for Ordinals inscriptionsCollaborated closely with Maxwell to translate his analog process and artistic symbolism into computational form
